Background
Claire has obtained a post-graduate certificate in the Archaeology of Standing Buildings from the University of Leicester and an MSc in Conservation of the Historic Environment from Reading University and attained Full Membership in the Institution of Historic Building Conservation
Claire has worked with various local authorities as a conservation officer and for Historic England tackling challenging Heritage at Risk sites, working closely with owners, architects, surveyors and stakeholders
More recently, Claire has worked on national infrastructure projects, undertaking heritage impact assessments for built heritage on Development Consent Order projects up to Public Examination stage
Areas of Practice
Claire is highly experienced in working with clients and buildings to identify opportunities for adaptation, and in bringing the right skills together to develop a project, including navigating the planning and consents systems. Claire is proficient in undertaking statements of significance and heritage impact assessments, as well as advising on initial phases of appropriate repair and maintenance
Claire has a developing interest in energy efficiency in historic buildings, promoting sustainability through appropriate maintenance and materials
