Background
George studied Building Surveying and the Environment at Plymouth University. He then worked as a building surveyor in private practice for four and a half years predominantly carrying out RICS level 3 building surveys and work in relation to The Party Wall Act 1996. An interest in historic buildings led to him carrying out a masters in Historic Building Conservation at Kingston University in which he obtained a distinction. His dissertation tested certain rising damp remedial measures both in the lab and in more practical applications as to their efficacy in historic buildings
Areas of practice
George joined H+R in 2023 as a Building Pathologist with a particular focus on damp and decay in both traditional and modern buildings. He investigates damp and decay and provides advice on causes and remedial measures to clients. He has a particular interest in the movement of moisture through porous building materials as well as historic building conservation and the impact of modern building materials on historic buildings
