April 2025

There has been somewhat of an educational theme in the month with specialist surveys of secondary schools (Highgate, City of London Freemens) and university colleges (Hertford in Oxford and King’s London and King’s Cambridge). The project scopes covered pretty much every century from the 15th to the 21st

On the Stately Home front, a return to Brocket Hall to update surveys from 10 years ago, and the start of highly specialized work at Clandon Park stood out. It has been 10 years since the fire

Dominating the month has been the continuation of all encompassing risk management investigations, for a single client, of the external envelopes of several commercial and retail blocks in London’s West End, including in Oxford Street

For those who have observed the inexorable rise of the ‘Nine Elms’ and the ‘Embassy Quarter’ schemes in Battersea over the last few years, H+R are now involved with de-risking some of the part-completed structures as the next phase begins

The Manchester Office has continued to thrive on a diet of factories, mills and Cathedrals!

Congratulations to Lighthouse Surveyors on the award of ‘best overall conservation project’ for the refurbishment of Burstow Farmhouse for the National Trust. Judges say it showed “the highest standards of conservation and repair”! H+R contributed a wide range of survey input
