August 2020

Lambeth Palace

H+R staff have been working at full capacity throughout the month with numerous projects coming back on-stream.  In addition, the pick-up in the housing market has resulted in above average numbers of specialist pre-purchase risk management surveys on a wide range of homes managing from flat conversions to Grade I listed country houses

Taking all that we have learnt to heart, H+R have been conducting their own pre-purchase surveys prior to concluding the freehold of our North of England offices consisting of the Old Manor House, Barn and Court House.  They combine to make a fascinating and historic core to the Manchester outlier of Mottram and there’s still a set of stocks outside!  In next month’s ‘edition’, there will be a section on the history of the building

Some projects of significance in the month include extensive historic plaster condition surveys of the ceilings at Lambeth Palace and timber condition investigations at Englefield House, the Greenwich University campus at Avery Hill and Hereford Cider Museum!  In addition, surveys have been undertaken at Lancaster Railway Station, Beverley Minster, Ainscough Mill and Holy Trinity Church, Boston

One of the largest projects in the month, which is still on-going, is the extensive moisture mapping, mould risk management and remedial strategic consultancy on a large new build block of apartments in Milton Keynes
