December 2023

Another year draws to an end and the Netley office Christmas tree this year was laden with natural fir cones which apparently only appear on trees over 25 years old which is an interesting thought in terms of what projects H+R would have been engaged with towards the end of the last century when the tree was seeded

Much activity in the build-up to Christmas has seen further involvement at Uppark for the National Trust, the London Chest Hospital, Jesus College Oxford, the new proposed Museum of London in Smithfield and the Whitechapel Bell Foundry

We were pleased to see that the extensive yet sensitive restoration of Boston Manor House in Brentford features in Country Life.  The property belongs to the London Borough of Hounslow and H+R supported Purcell with specialist consultancy relating to protection of the interiors from damp ingress.  The fine house dates back to the early 17th century and retains the date of 1622 on the hoppers and the magnificent plaster ceilings are dated 1623.  The house is notable for preserving so many layers of decoration www.bostonmanorhouse.org
