Hammersmith Building

On-going work at the Palace of Westminster has revealed fascinating roof structures within the Norman Shaw designed buildings with innovative use of steel and timber. Involvement on the principal Barry, Pugin and Scott Parliamentary building will pick up pace later in the year

H+R are now fully engaged on the refurbishment of Hammersmith Town Hall with primary responsibility to ensure that risks resulting from moisture retention in the masonry masses and building voids are fully managed

On contemporary buildings, a very interesting challenge was presented with the flooding of a glass gymnasium floor in a prestigious independent school. H+R are working closely with the loss adjustors in providing specialist consultancy in order to seek to retain the floor rather than replacing it

In the month, on-going investigations continue at the modernist masterpiece of Hornsey Town Hall as part of its redevelopment. The original Architect was Reginald Uren www.hornseyhistorical.org.uk. H+R were first involved back in 2010

Near to the Netley House Office, H+R have been appointed for the refurbishment of Pippbrook House in Dorking in the ownership of Mole Valley District Council. The house was built for the railway pioneer William Henry Forman and used to house his extensive taxidermy collection and private museum www.dorkingmuseum.org.uk

During the month, H+R are pleased to have been appointed at Lincoln Cathedral, the Rutherford Building, Towneley Hall in Burnley and several private schemes in West London
