Welcome to the new members of the team with Fiona Russek joining our heritage colleagues, led by David Watt. Fiona is a qualified Architect and a full member of the IHBC. Tom Duncan-Finn, son of the highly respected Nicola Duncan-Finn of English Heritage, has also started on an apprentice scheme

 

Institutional buildings loomed large in the month, including Queen Mary’s University in London, the former Surrey County Hall, the Museum of London, the House of Lords, St Fagan’s Castle Museum, Bush House for the BBC and Shire Hall in Hereford

 

Particular surveying challenges included the King’s Hall Leisure Centre and Liverpool Cathedral, whilst they were in full use!

 

Satisfaction was gained from informing an MoD client that all of the timber poles supporting an airbase monitoring installation were in fact sound, when they had been condemned by others. H+R doing their bit to save the stretched defence budget unnecessary expense
