September 2023
A very varied month with a more than usually wide range of project work encountered. However, the main effort was concentrated on some of the ever larger projects that H+R are increasingly invited to support. These mainly involve large commercial holdings in the principal cities of the UK as well as for large residential developments. In addition, there is a notable upswing in enquiries involving latent defects and failure in contemporary structures. The risk profile for such developments typically involving apartment blocks whether part completed or fully occupied is rising
Stand out projects of interest include Hammersmith Town Hall, Woburn Abbey, Canada House, Brodsworth Hall and the Palace of Westminster
Of particular note of celebration, H+R’s longest serving employee marked his 70th Birthday. Clive Stonehill joined H+R as a building technician back in 1975 when Tim and James Hutton were teenagers. He has not looked back since and looks forward to some years of further involvement
